BLUE RUIN [2013] -- Thriller/Independent

"The directing style of Blue Ruin is akin to lighting a candle with a match, while most other 'major block buster' films in the same genre and category go straight for the flame thrower. . . A slow burn the entire way, the movie reaches a fever pitch quite quickly and culminates in a blood curdling and heart stopping ride that takes hold, and doesn't let go until it's over."

Prometheus [2012] -- Sci-Fi // Horror
"Prometheus is a reboot prequel to Ridley Scotts Alien. The movie doesn't feature the Alien, but is still gorgeous to watch." SPOILER ALERT: JESUS WAS AN ALIEN 
I'd recommend this movie to just about everyone actually, although it doesn't come highly recommended. It's just a decent sci-fi 'horror' film (I think) and it opens a lot of interesting philosophical questions (where did we come from....where are we going etc).

Let the Right One in [2009] -- Vampire // Psychological-Chiller
Let the Right One In is a brutal movie about an abused 12 year old child and his new found (Rated-R for violence) friend, the vampire.
"Overall, I'd recommend this movie to anyone with an IQ above average with a strong stomach. If you enjoyed Zodiac, The Killer Inside Me, I suggest you check out this film. It's more a tragedy flick now that I think about it. "

Shutter Island [2010] -- Mystery // Chiller // Crime
Shutter Island is a movie about a detective who is tasked with investigating a murder on an Island for the mentally insane.
"This movie is DARK. It's CREEPY and it's fucking tense. Look at the name...I mean, it will give you shutters. It feels extremely similar to the first act of King Kong.[...]although not flawless, was pretty decent. This is the type of movie you need to watch twice, and it's worth it."
